Bear Archery
Fred Bear started Bear Archery Company in 1933 when he began making archery supplies for a few close friends. By 1939, he had enough business that he launched Bear Archery. Fred was the one responsible for implementing a bow-hunting season in Michigan in 1936. Fred was an excellent expert shooter and won several state championships in target shooting. He remained very active in producing and designing products for bow hunting until his death in 1988. Since that time, Fred Bear Archery has continued to make excellent bow products. They are now located in Grayling, Michigan.
